Data is in the mind (hopefully) of all businesses around the world. The ability to analyse your data, define trends and make informed business decisions based on actual, real and relevant data. It is literally revolutionising the way businesses function today.

Our managed service offering includes real time BI (Business Intelligence) on our performance. This enables us to run reports based on user issues and the amount of tickets logged to our support team.  We can look at real-time SLA breaches and therefore monitor response times to ensure we are always responding to calls in a timely manner and within our contractual obligation.

We also have an internal leader board which shows who has closed the most calls and how much time people have spent working on issues!

The important part though is what we do with that data. We run monthly reports indicating which users are logging the most tickets and what the highest reported issues are. Based on the information we can then look at trend analysis of the monthly data and make recommendations to business owners on which users require further training on certain issues or potentially which PCs may need replacing.

Not only does BI allow businesses to train their staff, but in some situations, can actually help them save money, or generate new streams of profit by using the data they didn’t know they had and improving business efficiency!

What is Power BI?

Power BI is a business analytics service provided by Microsoft. It provides interactive visualisations with self-service business intelligence capabilities, where end users can create reports and dashboards by themselves.

Power BI has been incredibly useful for sales teams. Like the example above, it enables the team (or sales manager) to run simple reports that presents their sales to date, the location and even as detailed as sales per square foot. This then allows the team to clearly define their best area of business, and target it more.
